Journey towards Samtse ☯️

According to Brian Herbert, “The capacity to learn is a gift, the ability to learn is a skill, and the willingness to learn is a choice.” Becoming a teacher has always been my ambition. During my early childhood, I dreamed of becoming a Dzongkha teacher. However, life took an unexpected turn, and I ended up pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in ICT. It was a surprising shift in my journey.

Back in my previous school, Dashiding Higher Secondary School, I performed quite well in ICT, especially in practical work, where I consistently scored good marks. I remember my aunt once told me, "High school assignments are nothing compared to college assignments." At the time, I ignored her words, but now I realize how true they were.

On May 25th, an announcement was made that Samtse College of Education would be admitting 140 students from the 2022 Arts stream. It felt like a blessing in disguise. The notice stated that admissions would open on May 26th at 9:00 AM and close at midnight on June 1st.

I quickly registered using my CID number, and to my surprise, I was shortlisted. I took it as a blessing from God and began preparing earnestly for the interview. The interview questions were general but very interesting. I answered with confidence and shared several of my thoughts from the perspective of an aspiring ICT teacher.

On June 26th, the final list of selected students was announced, and I was among them. Now, I am currently studying at Samtse College of Education. Though I’m facing challenges such as a heavy workload and time management issues, I am doing my best to stay active in class and participate in all college activities.

Thank you 😊
